Original 16th Century hand colored wood-cut / book-plate of hemp / Cannabis with descriptive text in Gothic German. This beautiful print comes from Adam Lonitzer's "Krauterbuch," published in Germany, 1569. The print is double-sided and discusses the bloodwort plant on the reverse, is on laid paper and due to it's age has stains and creases. It is matted in an acid-free standard 11 x 14" white-core mat. The print itself measures 7.75 x 11" (the bottom margin has been trimmed (was very tattered). This is an original, antique print, not a reproduction.
