Antique, 17th Century copper-plate engraving titled "Corso delle Bighe" by Pietro Santi Bartoli depicting a funerary lamp found in the catacombs of Rome. These funerary lamps were placed in the tombs of the deceased to light the way to the afterlife. This original, antique comes from a series titled "Le Antiche Lucerne Sepolcrali Figurate," (Rome, 1691). The overall print measures 9 x 13.75," the image measures 4.5 x 5.75."
