Original 16th Century engraving / book-plate of dragons, fire-breathing dragons, a lizard and scorpion with descriptive text in Gothic German. This beautiful book-plate comes from Adam Lonitzer's "Krauterbuch," published in Germany, 1569. The print is double-sided, is on laid paper and due to it's age has stains, tears in the bottom margin and creases. It is matted in an acid-free standard 11 x 14" white-core mat. The overall plate size, including margins is 7.75 x 12.25." This is an original, antique print, not a reproduction.
