Antique, steel-plate engraving of Frederick William Herschel, astronomer who discovered the planet Uranus. This original antique engraving is matted in an acid-free standard 11 x 14" white-core mat. The overall sheet measures 8 x 10.25," the image/portrait is 4 x 5.25". The beveled mat opening measures 5 x 7." As you can see in the photos, there is foxing (brown spots) on the paper, most of which, but not all, is covered by the matting. Blank on reverse. Please email me with any questions.
